When & Where
Jayhawk Pharmacy & Patient Supply's GET FIT TOPEKA STYLE
Mike Conlin, owner of Jayhawk Pharmacy & Patient Supply, created GET FIT TOPEKA STYLE in response to recent statistics specifically related to Topeka. (In April, the Kansas Health Institute released health rankings for all the counties in the state. Shawnee County ranks 65 out of 100 with 33% of its residents obese. In March, a Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index listed Topeka as number 8 in their top 10 most obese metro areas.) GET FIT TOPEKA STYLE is a 6-month health and wellness competition and general community effort designed to encourage a healthy lifestyle, not just weight loss. The inaugural program began in March 2012 with 20 contestants.
